MY STORY

Vintage photo of Margherita fiannacca drawing in the countryside

I grew up in a household where art was served for breakfast with bread and jam; my father being an artist provided me with the opportunity to grow in a creative environment full of inspiration, amidst art openings, artists visiting our home, and artworks hanging on every wall. My parents raised me in a simple and honest way. My younger sister and I spent summers in the countryside, playing with nature and imagination. We invented things, built objects, got our clothes and hands dirty. We read beautiful and colorful books, embarked on adventurous trips with our family, and drew a lot. For me, the act of creating with hands and drawing has always remained.

I attended an art high school and later graduated in Industrial Design, embarking on a graphic design career that I pursued for over 20 years.

After spending years in front of a screen, the need to pick up drawing tools again became increasingly apparent until I decided to dedicate time to my passion for illustration, which later evolved into a profound love for pattern design.

Over the years, my style has grown with me, gaining more awareness in wanting to emphasize those values in which I deeply believe.

MARF DESIGN

Marf Design is how I've chosen to share my aesthetic vision and values.
In my work, I combine digital and analog techniques to evoke the feel of collage and the textures of handmade art, using simple shapes with an intentionally imperfect touch.
I find inspiration in the little things of everyday life, aiming to express a sense of joy and a warm, positive nostalgia with a vintage twist.
I mainly work in Procreate and with collage — a technique I’m especially fond of.
